Luca has been writing and performing music since the sixth grade, when he formed a band called Füss with a friend. Now 16, he started this project a little over a year ago, when he had the idea to create a record by marrying music he had been composing at the piano with several poems he had written. Over time he would refine and develop these sketches into full-fledged songs, and string these songs together with instrumental interludes. The result is an engrossing, strikingly original listening experience that owes about as much to Radiohead's In Rainbows as it does to David Bowie’s Low. Pillars, which features Luca singing and playing piano and keyboards, embodies a style influenced by rock, jazz, and classical music alike.
lyrics
Next time you’ll get it right
Next time you’ll know the plan
Next time you’ll win the fight
Next time you’ll take a stand
You’ll take a stand
Next time you’ll seize the chance
Next time you’ll seize the day
Next time you’ll conquer romance
Next time you’ll be here to stay
You’ll be here to stay
Next time, look ahead for next time
Next time, all errors will erase themselves
This time will disappear into the shadow of the years
But what if next time never comes?
Next time you’ll know the score
Next time you’ll see the signs
Next time you’ll end the war
Next time you’ll keep on tryin’
You’ll keep on tryin’
Next time you’ll get a hold of your life
Next time you’ll prioritize
Next time you’ll confess to your wife
Next time you’ll realize
Who you are
Next time, look ahead for next time
Next time, all errors will erase themselves
This time will disappear into the shadow of the years
But what if next time never comes?
The wall’s down, you came round, you left your silver bag
I can’t find your number, I guess you’re moving back
Next time, look ahead for next time
Next time, all errors will erase themselves
This time will disappear into the shadow of the years
But what if next time never comes?
